Cooper's
Dream
Come
True!
We
adopted Fudge a year and a half ago. Fudge is a wonderful
dog. For not knowing anything about his first seven months,
I’m amazed by him daily. He’s WONDERFUL
with small
children – well, all people for that matter.
He’s a
character. He has a unique personality that comes
across.
His eyes light up and his butt wiggles for what seems like days . . .
So I just wanted you to know how thankful I am for Fudge.
Zoey getting a big hug!
You can hear Barkley's high-pitched baying sound and Zoey's deeper bark
while they run. They come back exhausted from their run and
sleep by the fireplace on dogie beds with blankets...yep they're
spoiled. Big Dog has no interest in chasing rabbits, he prefers
to stay in the house and wait for their return (Big Dog is a collie).
Zoey quickly found the dogie door and she's now goes in and out of the
house at will. She actually spends most of her time in the house
with us though. Lately she's been sleeping with my husband and me at
the bottom of our bed.
She's a sweetheart and we are happy to have her as part of our
family. I'm attaching a picture of Flo/Zoey cuddled in the bed
with our daughter, Karen. Barkley is the beagle at the bottom of the
bed.
Have a Happy Holiday
Becky, Robbie and Karen Kempf"
. . and bless all the
animals at the shelter
and help them find a new home just like Buddy did. . . Amen
p.s. Dear God, they
need a new shelter
while they’re waiting.
Thanks!
Tommy
Cooper
- Finally finds his wonderful forever home.
Here are
the notes
that were on the Dearborn County Shelter / Petfinder website:

"Cooper has a sweetness about him you'll find irresistible. He's happy,
affectionate, a real lover boy with one special wish: to find a forever
companion and move into a loving home. And this 1.5 year-old deserves
the best ! If you look into his beautiful dark eyes, you'll see an old
soul longing to connect to someone special, someone who loves the
outdoors, taking long walks, then snuggling up and sharing a good
heart-to-heart talk".
Cooper was at the shelter for
a long time. The wonderful news is that Cooper's and all the
Shelter Gang's dreams came true. As you can see by the
pictures, Cooper has found his wonderful, loving forever home.
He even has a Red Bone dog buddy. This
defines the meaning of "Happy Tails". We Luv Ya Cooper!
From one of our P.A.W.S. members......This is what we all hoped for for
Cooper! How wonderful. Couch potato man! Cooper is
a
special guy. Let the family know we appreciate them so much."

Fudge—Another
Dearborn County Shelter Adoption Friend
Fudge
could easily have been put down, but somehow he made it through and
I’m grateful for that, because most aren’t so
lucky.
Thank you for the work you do. I know it cannot be
easy.
However, because of the work people like you do, there are some that
find homes and are spoiled rotten – and Fudge is one of
them.”
Maggie
Moo—A Dearborn County Shelter Adoption Friend
Dolly,
who we have named Maggie Moo after the ice cream because she is
so sweet—is doing great! She follows us everywhere
and just
sits on the rug next to my 4-month old and watches over him.
We
love
her!
Flo (now Zoey's) Story
A Wonderful Forever Home Story
For Christmas
Flo
(now Zoey) is a six year old beagle that is as sweet as a beagle can
be. Flo had been at the Dearborn County Animal Shelter for six
months waiting for her forever family. Flo is a wonderful story
of the love an older dog can bring into your life. Flo's
new forever family wrote the shelter the following email and we
would like to share.
To: "The Dear Friends at the Dearborn County Animal Shelter:
Flo has lived with us for 3-1/2 weeks now and she has become an
important part of the family. We changed her name to Zoey and
she's already answering to it.
She's learned a lot in a short time and I think she's quite happy
here. We give our dogs a treat each morning when they come back
in after going outside. Big Dog and Barkley know the routine and
they always come rushing into the kitchen and immediately sit down and
wait for their treat. Zoey's first couple days, she would jump
and scratch and carry on just trying to grab the treats from my
hand. She also took several treats out of docile Barkley's
mouth. But by the third day, she had the routine down pat!
All three dogs now sit and wait for their treats and then nicely,
gently take them from my hand. Zoey sits, but her little bottom
is scooting around the floor while she sits! She's just so
excited about getting a treat!
We wanted Zoey to be a companion to Barkley the beagle so he would have
someone to run with and help him chase rabbits. Both dogs now go
out in the back
