Employment Opportunities

P.A.W.S. of Dearborn County has part-time positions available for friendly, outgoing, animal loving individuals. Applicants must be high school graduates or have a GED.

Part/Full Time Register Veterinary Technician

Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor (examine, observe and record) health of all Center animal's daily
  • Perform and/or oversee dog/cat vaccinations and testing
  • Provide specialized nursing care (dress wounds, administer medications, record temperature, perform intravenous feeding, fluids and medications)
  • Obtain and record patient case historie and ongoing medical care while at Center
  • Collect specimens and perform laboratory procedures and testing
  • Recommend and pursue euthanasia of Center animals as required
  • Assist cleaning of animal areas in accordance with established procedures as needed
  • Supervise movement of animals throughout the Center as needed
  • Prepare animals, instruments and equipment for surgery
  • Assist in diagnostic, medical and surgical procedures
  • Actively participate in the Management Team tp provide superior care for Center animals with an eye toward Continuous Improvement

 

 

 

Part Time Kennel Technician

 

Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to work with cats or dogs
  • Cleaning and maintenance of workplace
  • Caring for animals while at our facility
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong work ethic

 

Part Time Trap/Neuter/Release (TNR) Coordinator

 

Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Must be available to work weekends
  • Must be able to work with cats
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Valid Drivers License

Trap/Neuter/Release (TNR), the humane approach to addressing community cat populations. It saves cats' lives and is effective. TNR improves the lives of cats, addresses community concerns, reduces complaints about cats, and stops the breeding cycle. You will be leading a team of volunteers into areas that are in need of our help. Your team will set traps and monitor the traps through out the day to collect and bring back to PAWS. After the cats have been spay/neuter your team will take the cats back to the area they came from.
