Cunningham and the City of
Lawrenceburg have agreed to help financially to build a new
shelter in Dearborn County! The City of Lawrenceburg had
donated $800,000.
Over the last several years the City of Lawrenceburg has provided
operating funds to PAWS. Mayor Cunningham and the City of Lawrenceburg
have shown a tremendous amount of support for PAWS and we thank them.

We
are extremely grateful to DCF for their support in the form of grants.
Since 2003, DCF has provided over $45,000 in funding towards
spaying/neutering of adoptable animals residing at the Dearborn County
Animal Shelter, over $13,000 towards the spay/neuter voucher program
for companion animals, $7500 towards stray and feral cats, and $12,000
towards engineering and pre-construction costs for the new Animal
Shelter. In 2008, DCF donated $50,000 to the P.A.W.S. New
Shelter Building Fund towards 4 dog pavillions.

enough for finding good homes for so many of the cats and kittens at
the shelter. Since the store opened, as of May 10, 2010 more than 955 cats have
been adopted directly from the store.
